JANUARY 2008 EXAMINATION INFORMATION

  1. A complete exam schedule has been provided. Students with conflicts should notify Ms. Valilhora or Mr. Moore, in Guidance, after which a notice will be issued explaining how to proceed.
  2. PARENT/STUDENT EXAM INFORMATION
    1. Students will receive a mark of 0 for any exam missed that is not supported by a medical certificate or death certificate (in the event of the death of an immediate family member). All documentation supporting an absence must be forwarded to Mrs. Marcoux in the Attendance Office within five days of the absence.
    2. Students need to know the subject, level, and group number of each examination they are to write: i.e., French 412-12. English 426-23. Transparencies indicating the location of each group number will be posed on the day of the examination.
    3. During the examinations, students only have access to the cafeteria or library. A quiet, orderly and controlled atmosphere must be maintained in the library and cafeteria. The upper halls are out of bounds except to move to and from scheduled exam rooms.
    4. Students are responsible for supplying pens, pencils and rulers for each examination.
    5. In the case of a school closure, exams will be re-scheduled to a new date.
    6. Students should check with their subject teachers for individual guidelines for use of textbooks during the exam period.
    7. Students will not have access to their lockers during the examination week.

EXAMINATION RULES

  1. STUDENTS MUST NOT:
    1. knowingly use any materials other than those authorized.
    2. use sources of information other than those listed on the question paper.
    3. knowingly aid another student, or
    4. knowingly receive assistance from another person.

    ANY STUDENT FAILING TO ADHERE TO THE ABOVE WILL HAVE HIS/HER PAPER CONFISCATED AND WILL BE DISMISSED FROM THE EXAMINATION ROOM. THE STUDENT WILL BE TAKEN TO THE PRINCIPAL WHERE A COMPLETE REPORT WILL BE MADE. A MARK OF ZERO WILL BE ISSUED FOR THE EXAMINATION

  2. Students who are late (30 minutes or more) will not be admitted to an examination room. They should report immediately to Reception.
  3. Students:
    1. should make certain that they have the correct examination and that all the pages are included.
    2. should read the exam first and follow the written instructions carefully.
    3. must consider the time element carefully. Do not spend too much time on any one question at the expense of others.
    4. should allow sufficient time to re-read their exam and to verify that they have answered all required questions to the best of their ability.
    5. must make sure their name is on all answer sheets and booklets.
    6. should be aware that invigilators are not permitted to help them interpret any questions on the examinations.
    7. turn their answer sheet and any answer booklets face down on their desk before they leave
    8. are not allowed to exchange calculators, white-out, pens, pencils, etc. while the exam is in process.
