NEW Requirements for Obtaining a Secondary Diploma with Compulsory Secondary Examination Credits from the MELS (Ministry of Education of Quebec):
(1) If a student is scheduled to graduate in 2006-2007 (is in Secondary 5 in 2006-2007) they require the following courses in order to obtain a Secondary Diploma (students still require 54 total combined Secondary 4 and Secondary 5 credits to graduate):
Secondary 5 English (6 credits)
Secondary 5 French (4 credits)
Secondary 4 Math (6 credits)
Secondary 4 Physical Science (6 credits)
Secondary 4 History of Quebec and Canada (4 credits)
(2) If a student is scheduled to graduate in 2007-2008 (is in Secondary 4 in 2006-2007) they require the following courses in order to obtain a Secondary Diploma (students still require 54 total combined Secondary 4 and Secondary 5 credits to graduate):
Secondary 5 English (6 credits)
Secondary 5 French (4 credits)
Secondary 4 Math (6 credits)
Secondary 4 Physical Science (6 credits)
Secondary 4 History of Quebec and Canada (4 credits)
(3) If a student is scheduled to graduate in 2008-2009 (is in Secondary 3 in 2006-2007) they require the following courses in order to obtain a Secondary Diploma (students still require 54 total combined Secondary 4 and Secondary 5 credits to graduate):
Secondary 5 English (6 credits)
Secondary 5 French (4 credits)
Secondary 4 Math (6 credits)
Secondary 4 Physical Science (6 credits)
Secondary 4 History of Quebec and Canada (4 credits)
(4) If a student is scheduled to graduate in 2009-2010 (is in Secondary 2 in 2006-2007) they require the following courses in order to obtain a Secondary Diploma (students still require 54 total combined Secondary 4 and Secondary 5 credits to graduate):
Secondary 5 English (6 credits)
Secondary 5 French (4 credits)
Secondary 4 Math (4 credits)
Secondary 4 Science Technology (4 credits) or Secondary 4 Applied Science Technology (6 credits)
Secondary 4 History and Citizenship (4 credits)
Secondary 4 Arts Education (2 credits)
(5) If a student is scheduled to graduate in 2010-2011 (is in Secondary 1 in 2006-2007) they require the following courses in order to obtain a Secondary Diploma (students still require 54 total combined Secondary 4 and Secondary 5 credits to graduate):
Secondary 5 English (6 credits)
Secondary 5 French (4 credits)
