Academic Program for Arts and Sports (APAS)
This program is being developed in response to growing demand for a Sport-Etude-type program in our region’s English sector. APAS offers students the opportunity to have a compressed academic schedule which allows them to take part in their chosen athletic or artistic endeavours in the afternoons. Essentially, student-athlete/artists enrolled in APAS will attend classes every morning until around noon. Three or four afternoons per week will consist of training or practice at the athlete/artist’s club/team/conservatory, all of which will be vetted and sanctioned by the Philemon Wright/Hadley administrative team. The other one or two afternoons are spent in academic recuperation to help students stay on top of their studies. We are currently in the process of establishing relationships with a variety of local sports clubs and associations as well as drama and arts teachers.
